Shabdika (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Shabdika mobile application (“Service”) available on Google Play under the package name com.shabdika.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Shabdika you agree to this Policy.
Shabdika is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly. Parents who believe their child has provided us with information should contact shabkda@gmail.com.
3. Information we collect

c. Live audio rooms
Your real-time voice stream while a live room is active. This audio is not stored on our servers after the room ends — it is relayed in real time to other participants only.
Room metadata (title, host, participant list, seat positions, co-host promotions, moderation actions) is stored as long as the room exists.

Approximate connection region (used by our real-time voice provider for audio routing)
f. Permissions you grant on Android
Microphone — required to record audio posts and to participate in live audio rooms. The microphone is only active while you are actively recording or unmuted in a room.
Photos / media access — used only when you upload a profile picture or a room cover image. We never browse your photo library otherwise.
Notifications — used to deliver alerts about your account activity.
Foreground service / wake lock / network state — required for stable live-audio playback while the app is in the background.
4. How we use your information
We use the information collected to:
Create and authenticate your account.
Render, deliver, and synchronise live audio rooms, posts, comments, follows, and notifications.
Identify and remove content that violates our Community Guidelines (harassment, hate speech, sexual content, spam).
Real-time live-audio routing and in-room signaling
User ID, room ID, voice stream while a room is active, room state messages
Google LLC (Google Sign-In, Google Play Services)
Optional Google Sign-In; Android push notification delivery
Email and display name (only when you choose Google Sign-In); device push token
These providers process data only on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.
6. Data retention and account deletion
Your account, profile, posts, comments, and uploaded audio are retained as long as your account is active.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion permanently removes your profile, posts, comments, follow relationships, and uploaded media within 30 days. Backup copies are purged within an additional 60 days.
Live-room voice streams are not retained.
You may also request account deletion by emailing shabkda@gmail.com from your registered email address. We will action the request within 30 days.
Aggregated, non-identifying analytics (counts of total posts, total rooms, etc.) may be retained indefinitely.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information (most fields are editable in Edit Profile)
Delete your data (see Section 6)
Object to or restrict certain processing
Receive a copy of your data in a portable format (JSON export available on request)
Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email shabkda@gmail.com from the email address registered to your account.
8. Security
All network traffic between Shabdika and our backend providers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
Passwords are stored only as bcrypt-style salted hashes by our authentication provider. We never see your plaintext password.
Live-room voice streams use ZegoCloud’s encrypted RTC transport.
Server-side access is restricted to authorised personnel and protected by multi-factor authentication.
No system is 100% secure. We work to apply reasonable industry safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that affects your data, we will notify you via the email address on your account within 72 hours of becoming aware, in line with applicable law.
9. International data transfers
Our service providers operate globally. Your data may be stored or processed in regions outside your home country (for example, Supabase data centres in the European Union or United States; ZegoCloud nodes in the Asia-Pacific region). We rely on the providers’ compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR-compliant Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable) to safeguard your data during transfer.
10. User-generated content and moderation
Anything you publish publicly in Shabdika (posts, comments, room titles, audio you make public) is visible to other users and may be retained by them outside our control (screenshots, recordings, etc.). We moderate reported content under our Community Guidelines and may remove content or suspend accounts that violate them. Moderation actions are logged for accountability.
If you encounter content that violates our Guidelines, you can report it from inside the app or by emailing shabkda@gmail.com.
11. Push notifications
If you grant notification permission, we send you alerts via Android’s push system about activity related to your account (new followers, comments, room invitations, host announcements). You can disable notifications at any time from your Android settings or from inside the app.
12. Cookies and tracking
Shabdika is a native mobile application and does not use browser cookies. We do not run third-party advertising trackers, behavioural analytics, or fingerprinting libraries.
13. Changes to this Policy
If we materially change this Policy, we will post the updated version at this URL and update the Last updated date at the top. For significant changes affecting how we use your data, we will also notify you in-app or by email before the changes take effect.
14. Child safety standards
Shabdika is intended for users aged 18 and over and we take active measures to keep the platform free of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) material:
Account age: we do not knowingly create accounts for users under 18. Reported under-age accounts are removed.
Zero tolerance for CSAM: the creation, sharing, or solicitation of child sexual abuse material is strictly prohibited. Such content is removed on detection and accounts are permanently banned.
Reporting: any user can report concerning content from inside the app or by emailing shabkda@gmail.com. Reports are actioned within 24 hours, and confirmed CSAE is referred to the relevant authorities (NCMEC, where applicable, or local law enforcement) as required by law.
Moderation: our admin team reviews user reports, can mute, kick, or remove participants from live audio rooms, suspend or block accounts, and remove individual posts and comments.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement first, then notify us at shabkda@gmail.com so we can preserve evidence and remove the offending content.
