Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Shabdika account, what data is removed, and what we keep.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

Open Shabdika on your Android device.
Sign in with the account you want to delete.
Tap the Profile tab (bottom-right).
Tap the Settings icon (top-right of the profile screen).
Tap Delete Account.
Confirm by entering your password and tapping Delete permanently.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the in-app option (for example, you have lost access to your account):

Email shabkda@gmail.com from the email address registered to your Shabdika account.
Use the subject line "Delete my Shabdika account".
Include your registered email address in the body of the message so we can verify ownership.

We will action the request within 30 days and email you a confirmation when the deletion is complete.

What gets deleted

Profile (display name, profile picture, categories)	Permanently deleted within 30 days
Posts and poetry you created	Permanently deleted within 30 days
Audio recordings you uploaded	Permanently deleted within 30 days
Comments and likes you posted	Permanently deleted within 30 days
Follow relationships	Permanently deleted within 30 days
Live-room voice streams you participated in	Not retained at all (only relayed live)
Push-notification tokens	Permanently deleted within 30 days
Backups and disaster-recovery copies	Purged within an additional 60 days (90 days total)

What we keep, and why

Aggregated, non-identifying analytics (counts of total posts, total active rooms, etc.)	Operational metrics — cannot be linked back to you	Indefinite
Records of moderation actions taken against your account, if any (warnings, suspensions, blocks)	Required to enforce community guidelines and prevent ban evasion	Up to 5 years

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you are temporarily unable to access your account, consider signing out instead — you can return any time without losing your data.

Request partial data deletion only

If you want to delete some data but keep your account active — for example, removing a specific post or your profile picture — you can do that from inside the app:

Posts: open the post → tap the three-dot menu → Delete.
Comments: long-press the comment → Delete.
Profile picture: Profile → Edit Profile → remove or replace.

For deletion of any other specific data, email shabkda@gmail.com and we will action it within 30 days.
